Victor Oladipo seems to have finally come out of the tunnel after three seasons marred by injuries. Back a little over a month from the end of the regular season, the back of the Heat has recovered rather well, including a 40-point game against Orlando and a 23-point outing in the playoffs against Boston.
Extended for two seasons this summer, and finally in great shape, Victor Oladipo necessarily approaches the sequel with enthusiasm.
“It feels good to be able to play basketball again during the summer. I’m happy to be able to train and play against guys, work on my game and improve it, improve my strength and be comfortable on the court. I look forward to seizing the opportunity that presents itself,” did he declare.
Although Miami has been feeding rumors since the end of the season with an interest in Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell, the workforce has only lost PJ Tucker, and the Heat already have 15 players under contract.
Victor Oladipo hopes that these assets in terms of cohesion and collective experience will make the difference. It will then be up to Erik Spoelstra’s men to thwart (once again) the predictions.
“We were saying from the outside that Golden State wouldn’t win the title last year… It doesn’t matter. Everyone has their opinion, and it’s like emotions, everyone has them. It can not be helped. You just have to focus on yourself and the Heat. We’ve always done it that way. That’s who we are.” he added. “Last year was the same. We focus on us. You can’t really control what people think or say (…). I don’t really care anymore. We are going to go there to play, to continue to progress and to do everything possible to win a title.
If he returns to his best level, he may be the Heat’s best reinforcement next season…
