A series of meetings led yesterday by the head of government Aziz Akhannouch, during the United States-Africa business summit aimed at consolidating investment on the continent. Aziz Akhannouch notably spoke with Alice Albright, President of the Millennium Challenge Corporation and Akinwumi Adesina, President of the AfDB.
A series of bilateral meetings were held yesterday, Wednesday July 20, 2022 in Marrakech, during the United States-Africa Business Summit, during which the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch spoke with Alice Albright, President of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), accompanied by an official delegation. “The purpose of our presence is twofold. On the one hand, renewing our involvement with the Kingdom of Morocco through the MCC, and consolidating our commitment with the African continent to which we have devoted nearly 9 billion dollars,” said Alice Albright, President of the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
The meeting focused on the various aspects of the partnership and cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the body chaired by Alice Albright, in addition to studying the ways and mechanisms to support the last phase of the “Millennium Challenge” program. , which ends in March of the year 2023.
Two other meetings also attended by Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Economy and Finance, Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Integration, Micro-Entrepreneurship, Employment and Skills, and Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate with the Head of Government, in charge of Investment, focused on the promotion of investment and entrepreneurship in Africa.
“We shared ideas on how best to accelerate regional integration for Africa. The AfDB is very interested in feedback from projects like Tanger Med, with a view to sharing them with other African countries,” said Akinwumi Adesina, President of the AfDB.
Aziz Akhannouch also met with Ron Busby, president of the non-profit organization US Black Chambers, who is currently visiting Morocco from Washington, accompanied by a delegation.
