The NFL world pays tribute to the career of Tom Brady

Inevitably, with such a career, we can only have marked everyone who all have something to say about this immense career.

The suspense lasted a few days between the pre-announcement of Tom Brady’s retirement and the official announcement made by the player himself on Tuesday, February 1. He will have left his giant mark on the NFL during his 22-year career and his 7 titles. Inevitably, all the components of the league pay tribute to the most famous number 12 in the world. On the one hand, everyone had a few days to prepare speeches, videos and illustrations!

7:50 p.m .: Roger Goodell was (necessarily) among the first to react to the announcement of Brady’s retirement.

“Tom Brady will be remembered as one of the greatest to ever play in the NFL. An incredible competitor and leader, his brilliant career is remarkable for its longevity but also for the sustained excellence he displays year after year. Tom made everyone around him better and always seemed to deliver on the biggest moments. His record of five Super Bowl MVP titles and seven Super Bowl championships set a standard that players will pursue for years to come. He inspired fans in New England, Tampa and around the world with one of the greatest careers in NFL history. It was a privilege to watch him compete and to have him in the NFL. We thank him for his many contributions to our game and wish Tom and his family all the best for the future. »

7:45 p.m .: General manager of the Texans last season, Nick Caserio spent a large part of his career at the Patriots, first as an assistant and then passing through the offices.

“Tom Brady is greatness defined. In a results-oriented business, everything starts with hard work and Tom has never shied away from it. It wasn’t always easy and the work often came with sacrifices, but her discipline and unwavering commitment are something to be admired and appreciated. He pushed the limits and pushed us all to surpass ourselves. Ultimately football is about people and there has been no better person and player than Tom Brady. He cares deeply for others and always found a way to make those around him feel comfortable despite his larger than life status. It was an honor and a privilege to share 19 years with Tom in New England and I am a better person to have known him. Congratulations on a historic career, you will be missed. »

His two franchises draw beautiful illustrations and videos with the little teasing detail from the Patriots!

Its former president Robert Kraft (even if not mentioned in Brady’s announcement like all of the Patriots) cannot find the words to thank Tom Brady for what he has brought.

“A generation of fans grew up knowing only an NFL where Tom Brady dominated. He retired with nearly every passing record, but the only one that mattered to him was the team’s win-loss record. In his 20 years as a starter, his teams made the playoffs 19 times and he led his teams to 10 Super Bowls, earning an NFL record 7 championships. […] For a football fan it was a privilege to watch. For a Patriots fan, it was a dream come true. I have the greatest respect for Tom personally and always will. His humility associated with his trajectory and his ambition make him someone special. JI will always feel a close connection to him and will always consider him an extension of my family. »

Not mentioned in the official announcement but thanked later anyway

There were duels between the two! Peyton Manning had that difficult moment of saying stop a few years ago.

“Congratulations to my friend Tom for this incredible career. To do it for as long as he has and at the highest level is just absolutely amazing. It has been an honor and a privilege to play him on the pitch and I really appreciate his friendship off the pitch. I have always admired and respected its competitiveness, dedication, discipline and commitment to being the best. I wish him the best in his new chapter. Congratulations again my friend! »

The New York Jets suffered when Tom Brady passed. If we start on a small spade, we necessarily pay tribute to the former opponent.

“It better be real!” On a serious note, congratulations on Hall of Fame Tom Brady’s career. We may not miss you on the pitch, but certainly the world of football. »
