Well-being in real time – Trends-Tendances sur PC

Wenite is a Ghent-based HR-tech that combines the talents of its two founders to offer companies and employees a real-time view of well-being at work. A SaaS (“software as a service”) solution that uses artificial intelligence.

Jasper Dezwaef, doctor in psychology, and Robin Vannieuwenhuijse, developer, met a few years ago at Profacts, the Ghent-based company specializing in market research. It was during this first professional experience that their idea for a start-up was born. “We noticed a real frustration among the employees, confides Jasper Dezwaef. They were asked questions related to well-being but they had the impression that this was never followed by action. involved in the field but didn’t really know where to start.”

It was during this first professional experience that their idea for a start-up was born. “We noticed a real frustration among the employees, confides Jasper Dezwaef. They were asked questions related to well-being but they had the impression that this was never followed by action. involved in the field but didn’t really know where to start.” Almost two years ago, they brought Wenite to the baptismal font, a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution that offers real-time mapping of corporate well-being via artificial intelligence. “We collect data from employees by very regularly asking them scientifically validated questions, but also by looking at which proposed solutions they have used, continues Jasper Dezwaef. This data allows us to train an algorithm. The more they use the service, the more refined the platform. The smooth running of the platform obviously depends on the goodwill of the employees, but it is at this level that we differentiate ourselves from the competitors. With us, the response is immediate: a video to watch, an article to reading, a consultation with an external psychologist, a call to a help line, etc. There is real feedback as soon as a problem is raised. Each employee has a personal dashboard which presents, among other things, their index of well-being, the various dialogues as well as the points earned. Indeed, participation in the platform entitles you to gifts related to well-being.” Obviously, the data collected is anonymized and averaged. The HR department, on its own dashboard, thus has a wide range of information, including the evolution of commitment and the risk of burn-out over time. With alerts if the parameters slip. To develop, Wenite, in addition to equity, appealed to friends, family & fools (the 3 Fs) via the Winwinlening of the Flemish Region (the equivalent of the Coup de Pouce loan in Wallonia) and received a subsidy from the Vlaio, the Flemish agency that stimulates innovation and entrepreneurship. In February, Wenite also joined the imec.istart fund, which became a shareholder. All in all, the two founders thus raised 150,000 euros. A fairly low sum. “Yes, but we quickly had customers, and therefore income, concludes Jasper Dezwaef. There are about twenty of them today. Most do not have more than 200 employees. We have just started a long-term partnership with BDO to all the modules of the platform. The idea, with the audit firm, is to refine our product via feedback and to go even further. For example, to have a view of well-being in each team and know as finely as possible the impact of a managerial decision or an investment. Other large clients should arrive shortly.”
