The Prix de Normandie 2022 saw the great victory of HAPPY AND LUCKY (photo), driven by Franck LeBlanc and mounted by Adrian Lamy, the latter winning a second Group I at this Sunday meeting. In the stands, ICELEA HILYROSE was going well with in its wake HAPPY AND LUCKY. came next HEMA DU BOIS MORIN, HALLIX and HANDY BOURBON. Plain, HATCHET-MAN came quickly to the forefront. In the climb, the resident of Philippe Allaire was in command, followed by HILYROSE OF ICELEA, HALLIX, HAPPY AND LUCKY; HEMA DU BOIS MORIN and SWALLOW OF THE RIB, the latter having moved. Coming out of the turn, HATCHET-MAN could not resist the attack SWALLOW OF THE RIB. The latter seemed to be heading for victory, but it was without counting on the beautiful end of the race of HAPPY AND LUCKY. Launched at full speed by Adrian Lamythe daughter of Ready Cash left no chance for the protege of Joel Hallais in the last 50 meters. In retreat, HALLIX secured an encouraging third place, while the heavy underdogs HEMA DU BOIS MORIN and HAPPY STAR DRY placed fourth and fifth.
