Prince William turns 40! On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, the eldest son of Prince Charles and Lady Diana celebrated his entry into quarantine. A very important moment for the one who will one day be at the head of the British monarchy. And if the Prince of Wales was the first to celebrate his birthday publicly by sharing many photos of his son, Queen Elizabeth II also wanted to pay tribute to him on social networks.

On her Instagram account The Royal Family, she dedicated a publication to the birthday of the father of George, Charlotte and Louis. In addition to sharing seven never-before-seen photos, a short text summarizing the birth of the prince was revealed:Happy 40th birthday to the Duke of Cambridge! Prince William Arthur Philip Louis is the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. He was born at 9:03 p.m. on June 21, 1982, at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London. A bulletin, placed on the gates of Buckingham Palace, announced that he weighed 7 pounds 1 1/2 oz“.

Queen Elizabeth II shares moving photos with Prince William

Like Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II wanted to share photos of Prince Harry’s brother. The first is a recent photo of Prince William, very smiling. The second photo is in black and white, it shows the son of Lady Diana as a child, dressed in overalls and a striped t-shirt. We recognize the little boy well with his sparkling eyes and his blond hair.

In the other photos, Queen Elizabeth II appears alongside Prince William, different stages of his life. First very young, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, then at the beginning of his military career. He first appears in uniform, standing straight in front of the passage of the monarch, the two interested parties smiling without looking at each other. Then in outfit helicopter pilot for the Royal Air Force. At this time, Prince William is approaching his thirties and seems very focused, explaining something to his grandmother. Finally, the last two photos show the older Duke of Cambridge, always very smiling and particularly close to Queen Elizabeth II. Magnificent shots that show the special relationship that unites the descendant to the throne to the British monarch.
