Real Madrid are absolutely looking to secure the future of Vinícius Júnior, but behind the scenes, PSG have tried to convince the player not to stay in Spain by offering him a hefty salary.
Thanks to the successive spells of Zinedine Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Vinícius Júnior has become an essential cog in the merengues. Well helped by a Karim Benzema who took him under his wing, the Brazilian is now one of the best in his position. No wonder then to see Florentino Pérez doing everything to extend the 21-year-old winger under contract until June 2024. But Real could come up against a serious problem. PSG indeed approached Vinícius with a salary that was hard to refuse.
PSG offers 40 million annual net to Vinícius
It was in an interview with the Chiringuito that Florentino Pérez spoke about Vinícius’ situation. Currently, the Brazilian has only 2 years of contract left and Real Madrid is naturally looking to extend it by offering him better salary conditions. President Merengue says that for several months, PSG has contacted his player to convince him not to renew at Real and even encourage him to ask to leave.
For this, Paris Saint-Germain would have as often released the checkbook by offering a salary of 40 million euros per year to Vinícius JR while Real offered him a contract of 10 million net annual until June 2027. PSG also mentioned a nice signing bonus to finish convincing ViniJR and his agents.
Unfortunately for Nasser Al Khelaifi, it was without counting on the honesty of the Real player who did not hesitate to warn his management that he was receiving offers from Parisian leaders. The player has also declined all appointments offered by PSG until last March. Vinícius has always remained straight in his boots with only one wish in mind: to extend in Madrid. A wish that should soon be granted, because the negotiations are on the right track.
