M6 broadcast the first phases of the quarter-finals of Top Chef this Wednesday, May 25. Before the start of the tests, the candidates received letters from their relatives. Arnaud, who lost his mother to cancer, was particularly upset by the words of his friends, before bursting into tears.
This Wednesday, May 25, the first phases of the quarter-finals began in Top chef. They are now only 4 to be able to claim the final victory. And to give them an extra dose of motivation, each of them had the chance to receive a letter written by relatives before the outbreak of hostilities. This is for example the case ofArnaud Delvenne.
The Belgian chef, who lost his mother to cancer, has indeed received news from her best friend Thierry and her best friend Kim. “They are the two people who have supported me for many years, they are the family I have chosen”, explained the protege of Glenn Viel, before adding with emotion: “When my mom died, if I hadn’t met them, I would have done a lot more bullshit and might not even be here today.”
Arnaud: “They were there to support me and advise me”
Arnaud then began reading the letter. “You haven’t necessarily had an easy life, you have experienced obstacles that have made you stronger”Thierry wrote. “I am convinced that from up there, your mother is watching over you“, added for his part Kim. Statements that upset the candidate, who then burst into tears. “They were there to support me and advise me. Thierry, it’s as if he were my father, and Kim, it’s my mother, because when I do stupid things, it’s her who yells at me more than Thierry”said the young chef, facing the camera.
A few seconds after reading the letter, Arnaud was surprised to see his two friends land in the kitchens of Top Chef, to the delight of the candidate. The latter then hastened to go and hug them. “You tore me down with your words”he launched to his relatives, more motivated than ever for the rest of the competition.
