Football – Mercato – OM
Although OM have made no secret of their desire to try their luck with Arsenal to retain William Saliba, whose loan period has expired, the Gunners have put an end to the soap opera.
William Saliba could he extend his adventure to theOM besides the expiration of his loan? The main interested party has shared his desire, on several occasions, to remain at theOM if the different parties were in agreement. To the point where the communication manager James cardoze claimed earlier this week that President pablo Longoria was going to do what was necessary to keep the French international. Nevertheless, to impose Arsenalwhere he has never been able to play a single minute in the first team, would be a good goal for Saliba internally. Besides, Michael Arteta said he was counting on his services next season on Tuesday. “He has to come back. He has the experience and the environment to be competitive with us. If he had stayed with us this year, with one Premier League game a week, with Ben White and Gabriel, he wouldn’t have had half the playing time he had with Marseille, that’s for sure. For his growth and what he can do next season it wouldn’t have been good. William wasn’t with us because he wouldn’t have had the necessary playing time to gain experience. That’s all, there’s nothing else.”
Arsenal rely on Saliba
According to the information disclosed by The Teamthe management committee ofArsenal would have made very clear his plans for William Saliba next season, while so far the defender on loanOM was in limbo. Indeed, the sports daily affirms that Saliba will be an integral part of the plans of Michael Arteta next season and even that an extension of his current contract until June 2024 is in the news.
🗞 Arsenal bosses have confirmed to William Saliba that he will be an integral part of the project next season. They even recently mentioned an upcoming extension offer, Saliba being out of contract in 2024. (@lequipe) #TeamOM pic.twitter.com/925RMEM2MQ
